Know That State: Kentucky

Every year in May, many people go to a stadium called Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. They watch the Kentucky Derby! This is a horse race that first started in 1875. Horses run on a racetrack that is 1 ¼ miles long. They usually finish the race in about 2 minutes! The horses are all three years old. The person who rides a horse in the race is called a jockey. Let’s find out about some other things to see and do in Kentucky!
