Have you ever been ice skating? Ice is slippery to move on, so when you ice skate, you wear special boots. These boots have a metal blade on the bottom, so you can move smoothly across the ice.
Figure skating is a sport where people ice skate. They perform amazing jumps and spins.
This month, figure skating will be a sport at a big competition called the Winter Olympic Games. Athletes from different countries will take part. There will be other sports, too. Each of the sports takes place on snow or ice!
