One brand new sport at the Winter Olympic Games is ski mountaineering. This combines skiing and mountain climbing! Skiing is where people wear long boards on their feet to move quickly on the snow. For ski mountaineering, athletes climb up a mountain and then ski back down. They will all try to do this in the fastest time.
This year there are 16 different sports at the Winter Olympic Games. Some sports will use artificial snow. This is snow that has been made by people. Water cannons help to freeze water to make the artificial snow. It is made to look and feel like real snow!
