Several young superstars are just beginning their World Cup careers. Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal should play an important role for Spain. Norway’s Erling Haaland is one of the best goal scorers in the world. Several countries will be playing in their first World Cup. Cape Verde, Curaçao, Jordan, and Uzbekistan all play their first World Cup in 2026.
