This is Dolly Parton. She was a famous country music singer. She also found success as an actress and a businesswoman. She had a very generous spirit and used her success to help others.
Dolly Parton was born in 1946 in Sevier County, Tennessee. This is part of a region called the Smoky Mountains. Her family did not have much money. They lived in a one-room cabin. However, Dolly grew up happy and loved music from an early age. As a musician, Dolly Parton wrote more than 3,000 songs. Though she made country music, she was popular with fans of many different types of music. She made it into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She also starred in several movies including 9 to 5 and Steel Magnolias.
