Know That State: Minnesota

Minnesota is a state with lots of natural beauty. It is full of lakes and forests. This makes it a great place to explore nature. Winters in Minnesota are cold and snowy. People go ice fishing, skiing, and snowshoeing. The weather warms up in the summer. People go hiking, biking, swimming, and boating.

Minnesota is also home to many gray wolves. They live in packs in the state’s northern forests. A few years ago, there were few wolves left in Minnesota. But people worked hard to protect them. Today the numbers are back up. Minnesota now has the second highest number of gray wolves in the United States. Alaska is the only state with more.
