The 2020 United States presidential election is Tuesday, November 3, 2020. What are the biggest issues that voters will think about when they vote?

Donald Trump and Joe Biden are the two major candidates running for United States president. What are some big issues in this year’s elections?

Economy The COVID-19 pandemic damaged the United States economy. Many people lost their jobs as many businesses closed. The candidates have different ideas about how to make the economy strong and keep people safe.

Healthcare COVID-19 has killed at least 200,000 Americans. That has made healthcare a big issue for the election. The candidates have different ideas about how to pay for healthcare.

Undocumented Immigration Many people feel there is too much undocumented immigration into the United States. Undocumented immigrants are people in the United States that do not have legal document that allows them to remain in the country. Some people would like undocumented immigrants to be removed from the country. Others feel this is harsh. Some immigrants in the United States came when they were children. Many people want these children to have a way to become citizens of the United States. This is an important issue in this election.

Climate Change The United States used to be part of a global agreement called The Paris Climate agreement that is supposed to reduce how much the world is warming. Donald Trump took the United States out of this agreement because it was expensive. The candidates disagree on how to help the climate.

Racism Racism is unfair treatment or unfair opportunities because of the color of people’s skin. The candidates have different ideas about racism in the United States.
