Have you ever heard of a primatologist? This is a scientist who studies primates. This includes monkeys, apes, and chimpanzees.
Jane Goodall worked as a primatologist for more than 60 years. She studied chimpanzees and how they live.
The chimpanzees let Goodall get very close to them. Goodall was even able to start feeding them. She also gave them names!
Goodall named one chimpanzee David Greybeard. She saw David Greybeard build a tool with twigs. He used the tool to get food. People did not know animals could do this!
