In April of 2025, the Hubble Space Telescope celebrated its 35th birthday. A telescope is a tool that makes far-away objects seem closer. Hubble is a special kind of telescope that is in space. It takes pictures of planets, stars, and other objects. It sends them to Earth so scientists can learn about space.
Hubble has been in space since April 24, 1990. In its 35 years, scientists have developed a better understanding of space. As a result of Hubble, scientists learned how old the universe is. They have seen stars born. They have seen stars die. They have learned about planets in our own solar system. They have learned about planets in other solar systems. They have learned about far-away groups of stars.

Hubble is still very useful and in good health. Over the years, astronauts have been sent to space to fix the telescope. They replaced cameras and computers. Engineers keep software updated.
