This November, people will go to the polls to vote. They will vote on many issues. They will vote for representatives in government. They will also vote for the president. They will choose the Republican Party candidate or the Democratic Party candidate.
The Republican Party nominee is Donald J. Trump. He was the 45th president of the United States. He lost an election in 2020 to Joe Biden. Now, he is seeking to become the second person to lose the presidency and then be reelected to another term as president. The first was Grover Cleveland in 1888.
The Democratic Party nominee is Kamala Harris. She is currently the vice president under Joe Biden. She is seeking to become the first female president of the United States. She would also become the second Black president of the United States and the first president of South Asian heritage.
Voters will decide on November 5, 2024. It may take days or weeks to count the votes and determine the winner. Check back to Impact News to see who will be the next president of the United States.
