You can visit many historic places in Virginia. George Washington’s home, Mount Vernon, is now a museum. You can also visit Jamestown, which became the first English permanent settlement in North America in 1607.
In the city of Williamsburg, you will find Colonial Williamsburg. This is a living-history museum, which is an area that has been kept looking like it did in the past. There are historic buildings and actors explaining what life was like in colonial times.
