Floods Damage Nepal and Tibet

As soon as the flooding began, rescue efforts were launched. Rescue workers used bulldozers to help save people. Other rescue units used helicopters and drones. More than 10,000 people were rescued.

Many people are living in tents and temporary housing. Roads and bridges have been destroyed. This makes it very difficult to get supplies to the area. Countries such as Australia, South Korea, and the United States are sending money and supplies. Organizations such as the United Nations and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies are bringing food, water, tents, and mattresses.

What Can You Do? Research charitable organizations and find ways that they are helping Nepal and Tibet.
