World Cleanup Day started almost 20 years ago in Estonia. That’s a small country in Europe. Thousands of people worked together to clean up their country in one day. People in other countries liked the idea. People all over the world held their own one-day cleanups for many years. Today the event happens every year on September 20. In 2024, over 100 million people all over the world took part in World Cleanup Day.
